Helen Verger Award - Ottawa Folk Festival - photos by Graham Lindsey
SBB's very own Paul Mills was awarded the Helen Verger Award for lifetime achievement. Congratulations from us, and we're so honoured and pleased to have been a part of the evening! We played 45 Years (a great song by Stan Rogers) and The Gypsy Set. Photos from onstage were taken on my phone, hence the haze on anything really bright, while other photos were taken by Bryn Burnell or me from the audience.

The Goulbourn Grans work to help African grandmothers raising their grandchildren, whose parents died of AIDS. We helped the grans raise money for an excellent cause, and it was one of our best concerts to date!

Goulbourn Grans - photos by John Curry
John Curry from The Stittsville News took some photos of the band. The two they sent me .. well, they actually featured me. They're great pics and I will endeavour to caption them in a humourous that in no way offends the photographer or you, the kind reader.

Ottawa Council of Folk Festivals - Conference! - photos by Graham Lindsey
The Sarah Burnell Band as well as Crabtree & Mills and Dan McKinnon teamed up to provide three hours' entertainment on each of three consecutive nights... one of the rockin'ist rooms at the conference. The following photos were taken in that room and in the few other showcases (and guerilla showcases) the photographer was able to attend.

Band Photo Shoot! - photos by Graham Lindsey
We needed a band photo... we were all in the same city... what better opportunity? The only slight issue was that the photographer was also in the picture. He lost about 42lbs that day just from running back and forth, from camera to in-the-picture.

Toronto CD Release at Hugh's Room - photos by Graham Lindsey
Twenty five years to the day after Stan Rogers tragically died, we happened to land ourselves in Toronto's premier folk club (Hugh's Room). The Sarah Burnell Band played the first concert of our CD release tour, and Paul had Stan's 12-string onstage with us. Magical.

Celebrating a proud Irish tradition, the band plays the local St. Patrick's Day pub gig. 2008 isn't the year of the Rat, rather the Loon. The Sarah Burnell Band played the Arrow and Loon pub in Ottawa's Glebe neighbourhood.

NACO Young Peoples' Concert - photos by Graham Lindsey
Sarah, Greg, D'Arcy and Neil played part of a concert series at the National Arts Centre. They played Bach's "Gigue" and somewhere along the way it turned into a rollicking "Jig" (same pronunciation). Initial reports indicate it may have been a runaway percussionist.

Just Another CD Rehearsal - photos by Graham Lindsey
10am is early for musicians. 9:30 is almost unheard of, but in the band's defence there was food. That's a great thing, and so were the music and personalities. A photographer's dream!
